CVSS v3.1 |
| A memory initialization issue was addressed. This issue is fixed in macOS Big Sur 11.0.1, watchOS 7.1, iOS 12.4.9, watchOS 6.2.9, Security Update 2020-006 High Sierra, Security Update 2020-006 Mojave, iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2, watchOS 5.3.9, macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Supplemental Update, macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Update. A malicious application may be able to disclose kernel memory. |
| The strncmp implementation optimized for the Power10 processor in the GNU C Library version 2.40 and later writes to vector registers v20 to v31 without saving contents from the caller (those registers are defined as non-volatile registers by the powerpc64le ABI), resulting in overwriting of its contents and potentially altering control flow of the caller, or leaking the input strings to the function to other parts of the program. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: qedf: Add stag_work to all the vports
Call trace seen when creating NPIV ports, only 32 out of 64 show online.
stag work was not initialized for vport, hence initialize the stag work.

| AMI APTIOV contains a vulnerability in BIOS where a user may cause “Improper Initialization” by local accessing. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may leave the resource in an unexpected state and potentially impact confidentiality, integrity, and availability. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
riscv: kprobe: Fixup kernel panic when probing an illegal position
The kernel would panic when probed for an illegal position. eg:
(CONFIG_RISCV_ISA_C=n)
echo 'p:hello kernel_clone+0x16 a0=%a0' >> kprobe_events
echo 1 > events/kprobes/hello/enable

That is because the kprobe's ebreak instruction broke the kernel's
original code. The user should guarantee the correction of the probe
position, but it couldn't make the kernel panic.
This patch adds arch_check_kprobe in arch_prepare_kprobe to prevent an
illegal position (Such as the middle of an instruction). |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: hns3: fix kernel crash when devlink reload during pf initialization
The devlink reload process will access the hardware resources,
but the register operation is done before the hardware is initialized.
So, processing the devlink reload during initialization may lead to kernel
crash. This patch fixes this by taking devl_lock during initialization. |
| Improper initialization in firmware for some Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software and Intel(R) Killer(TM) Wi-Fi before version 23.40 may allow a privileged user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
hid: cp2112: Fix duplicate workqueue initialization
Previously the cp2112 driver called INIT_DELAYED_WORK within
cp2112_gpio_irq_startup, resulting in duplicate initilizations of the
workqueue on subsequent IRQ startups following an initial request. This
resulted in a warning in set_work_data in workqueue.c, as well as a rare
NULL dereference within process_one_work in workqueue.c.
Initialize the workqueue within _probe instead. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ice: Avoid crash from unnecessary IDA free
In the remove path, there is an attempt to free the aux_idx IDA whether
it was allocated or not. This can potentially cause a crash when
unloading the driver on systems that do not initialize support for RDMA.
But, this free cannot be gated by the status bit for RDMA, since it is
allocated if the driver detects support for RDMA at probe time, but the
driver can enter into a state where RDMA is not supported after the IDA
has been allocated at probe time and this would lead to a memory leak.
Initialize aux_idx to an invalid value and check for a valid value when
unloading to determine if an IDA free is necessary. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
i40e: Fix freeing of uninitialized misc IRQ vector
When VSI set up failed in i40e_probe() as part of PF switch set up
driver was trying to free misc IRQ vectors in
i40e_clear_interrupt_scheme and produced a kernel Oops:

The problem is that at that point misc IRQ vectors
were not allocated yet and we get a call trace
that driver is trying to free already free IRQ vectors.
Add a check in i40e_clear_interrupt_scheme for __I40E_MISC_IRQ_REQUESTED
PF state before calling i40e_free_misc_vector. This state is set only if
misc IRQ vectors were properly initialized. |
| A vulnerability in the Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) subsystem of Cisco IOS and IOS XE Software could allow an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to receive potentially sensitive information from an affected device. The vulnerability is due to insufficient memory initialization. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by receiving HSRPv2 traffic from an adjacent HSRP member. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to receive potentially sensitive information from the adjacent device. |
| A flaw was found in the way xserver memory was not properly initialized. This could leak parts of server memory to the X client. In cases where Xorg server runs with elevated privileges, this could result in possible ASLR bypass. Xorg-server before version 1.20.9 is vulnerable. |
| Uninitialized data in endianness conversion in the XEvent handling of the X.Org X Server before 2017-06-19 allowed authenticated malicious users to access potentially privileged data from the X server. |
| Improper initialization in some Intel(R) Power Gadget software for Windwos all versions may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable denial of service via local access. |
| After initial configuration, the Ruggedcom Discovery Protocol (RCDP) is still able to write to the device under certain conditions.
This could allow an attacker located in the adjacent network of the targeted device to perform unauthorized administrative actions. |
| Parallels Desktop Updater Improper Initialization Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on affected installations of Parallels Desktop. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target host system in order to exploit this vulnerability.
The specific flaw exists within the Updater service. The issue results from the lack of proper initialization of environment variables. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to escalate privileges and execute arbitrary code in the context of root.
. Was ZDI-CAN-18229. |

| In fvp_freq_histogram_init of fvp.c, there is a possible Information Disclosure due to uninitialized data. This could lead to local information disclosure with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
